Teenager arrested after stabbing in downtown Auckland

A teenager has been arrested in central Auckland after a stabbing in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Emergency services were called to Quay Street at about 1am, where they arrested a 17-year-old male.

The victim was taken to hospital in a critical condition.

The accused was expected to appear in Auckland District Court on Saturday, charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
