Lake Hāwea homicide: 60-year-old died in 'significant assault'

Police believe people in the Lake Hāwea community have important information about the killing of a 60-year-old woman nine months ago.

Invercargill woman Karen White died at her Lake Hāwea property on 8 March from injuries police said she sustained in a significant assault.

ESR scientists and police re-examined the scene on Wednesday.

"Police cannot go into any more details about the examination or what was located,'' Detective Senior Sergeant Regan Boucher said.

"Police believe people in the community hold important information about Mrs White's murder and we encourage those people to come forward."
