In a recent decision, the Joint Admission Board (JAB) has reverted to the earlier eligibility criterion for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced, limiting the number of attempts to two. This change comes a month after the board announced an increase in the number of attempts to three for this year.
The move aims to align with the previous guidelines regarding the number of attempts allowed for candidates appearing for JEE Advanced.
"The Joint Admission Board (JAB) has decided to restore the earlier eligibility criterion used in previous years pertaining to number of attempts in JEE (Advanced), in supersession of the criterion mentioned in Press Release dated November 05, 2024. This has been done after considering various competing requirements in the meeting of JAB held on November 15, 2024. This has resulted in restoring the earlier eligibility criteria followed since 2013. All other eligibility criteria remain same," reads the official notice.
Previously, candidates were allowed a maximum of two attempts within two consecutive years. However, this restriction has now been lifted. All other eligibility criteria for JEE Advanced 2025 remain unchanged.
The exam date and information bulletin for JEE Advanced 2025 will be released soon on the official website (jeeadv.ac.in). Candidates can also find the eligibility criteria for both Indian and foreign nationals on the same website.
