The Delhi government has invited proposals from agencies to set up Artificial Intelligence (AI) labs in selected schools, as per an official notification issued on Wednesday.

The initiative, announced by the Directorate of Education (DoE), aims to foster advanced technological learning and encourage innovation among students. Agencies are also expected to conduct demonstrations to showcase the establishment and functionality of these labs.

An AI Lab is a dedicated learning space equipped with cutting-edge tools and technologies to teach and explore artificial intelligence concepts. These labs usually feature hardware, software, and resources that enable students to participate in practical activities like coding, data analysis, machine learning, and robotics.

"Qualified and interested agencies are invited to submit proposals and showcase a demonstration of their AI Lab setup and capabilities to the Competent Authority of the Directorate," a notification issued by the Directorate of Education (DoE) reads.

The Directorate of Education (DoE) highlighted that the demonstration would help clarify the concept and functioning of AI Labs. Agencies are required to outline the proposed infrastructure, features, functionalities, training plans, and implementation strategies in their presentations.

Proposals and demonstrations should be submitted to the office of the Joint Director (IT) at the Directorate of Education, GNCID, within seven days of the notice's publication. The Directorate also stated that the demonstration must be thorough, providing a clear understanding of how AI Labs will be successfully established and managed in schools.
