  • Deadlines for Class 9 and Class 11 registrations end on October 16, 2024
  • Errors in LoC submission may not be corrected after results are declared

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a crucial reminder to parents regarding the proper submission of data for students' registration and the List of Candidates (LoC) for upcoming board exams.

This notification applies to students in Classes 9 and 11 for registration, and Classes 10 and 12 for their LoC submission.

CBSE’s circular stressed that mistakes during this process can cause major disruptions for students and their schools later on.

IMPORTANCE OF ACCURATE DATA

CBSE highlighted that many parents have been submitting incorrect information, including details like names, dates of birth, and subjects. Once the registration and LoC processes are complete, requests to correct this data can no longer be accommodated, especially after results have been declared.

"It has been observed that during registration and submission of LOC, parents are submitting incorrect information...and after the result is declared, they are making requests to correct the data," the circular noted.

To prevent these issues, CBSE has outlined specific steps for parents:

  • Ensure your child’s name, date of birth, and parents’ names are correct and written in their full form. No short names should be used.
  • Surnames are particularly important if your child plans to go abroad in the future, as many countries require them on official documents.
  • Double-check the date of birth and consider cross-verifying it with any existing passport.

CBSE also reminded parents to carefully choose the subjects for students in Classes 10 and 12. "No change will be accepted after LOC submission," the board stated, underlining the importance of accuracy.

DEADLINES FOR CBSE REGISTRATION AND LOC

Students in Classes 9 and 11 must register on CBSE’s official website by October 16, 2024. A late registration window is available until October 24, 2024, but it incurs additional fees.

For students in Classes 10 and 12, the deadline for submitting the LoC without late fees is October 4, 2024. However, submissions with late fees can be made until October 15, 2024.

Parents are also encouraged to visit their child’s school and assist in the timely submission of all required data.
