Royal Family 'fear' Sarah Ferguson as she's 'real threat after Prince Andrew conversations'
by Simon Green, Adam Toms · BristolLiveA royal expert has suggested that the Royal Family may be apprehensive about what Sarah Ferguson "knows" about the Firm, following rumours that Prince Andrew is planning to write a revealing memoir. Despite their divorce in 1996, the Duke and Duchess of York continue to reside together at the Grade II-listed Royal Lodge near Windsor Castle.
Even though King Charles III allegedly stopped Prince Andrew's £1million annual allowance previously provided by Queen Elizabeth II, the prince remains at the property. Since January 2022, Andrew has been absent from royal duties after his mother decided to strip him of his royal and military titles amid a civil case brought against him by Virginia Giuffre.
There are whispers that he might write a tell-all book similar to Prince Harry's 'Spare', which could potentially be more damaging given Andrew's longer tenure as an adult in the Royal Family. He was also known as the Queen's favourite son and maintained a close relationship with her for decades.

However, royal biographer Andrew Lownie, who is currently penning a biography on the Duke of York, expressed doubts about such a development to Mail Online. He stated: "There have long been rumours that Andrew might write a book, and various collaborators have been suggested, but I think it is very unlikely. Andrew is loyal to the institution and knows it would impact his daughters and their position within the Royal Family."
According to the experts, it's Sarah Ferguson who they should be wary of. He further commented: "Yes he knows a lot but I doubt he would ever talk. He's told them all to Fergie and she's the real threat which is why the family are keen to keep her on side," reports Surrey Live.
Sarah, mother to Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, once shared that after her separation from Prince Andrew, her main focus was to maintain a close relationship with the late Queen, whom she fondly referred to as "more mother than mother-in-law" and her "greatest mentor".
In a 2007 chat with Harper's Bazaar, Sarah remembered a discussion with Queen Elizabeth II post-divorce, where the Queen asked what she wanted. Fergie replied: "Friendship, not money."
She recalled: "When I met with Her Majesty about it, she asked, 'What do you require, Sarah?' and I said, 'Your friendship,' which I think amazed her because everyone said I would demand a big settlement.
"But I wanted to be able to say: 'Her Majesty is my friend' - not fight her nor have lawyers saying, 'Look, she is greedy.' I left my marriage knowing I'd have to work."
