Police identify man after rape in Bristol city centre
by Jamie Hawkins · BristolLivePolice released a picture of a man they would like to speak to following a rape in Bristol city centre. Avon and Somerset Police said on Sunday, March 24, sometime between 2am and 3.30am, the victim was raped in Colston Parade, off Redcliff Hill, Bristol.
The force believed the man pictured may have information which could aid their enquiries into the incident. He has since been located
Investigating officer DC Ewan Brand said: “I must commend the victim’s bravery in coming forward following this incident. I do not underestimate the strength and courage it must have taken.
“We are always mindful in our investigations of the impact that events such as this can have on the victim. We have been carrying out a number of enquiries, such as examining forensic evidence, over the past months and have now reached a stage when we are able to issue this appeal."
A police spokesperson said: "Earlier today (Wednesday 30 October), we issued an appeal to identify a man we wished to speak with in connection with a serious sexual assault in Bristol.
"The man has now been identified and enquiries are ongoing."
