Suspects named and charged after firearm, drugs and stolen car are seized

Police stopped a BMW near Cabot Circus

Two men have been charged with a number of drug related offences after police stopped a vehicle in Bristol earlier this week. A large police presence was seen along Bond Street on Wednesday, October 2, near Cabot Circus.

A black BMW was stopped at around 4.30pm, causing major delays through the city. Two men, David Meti and Sepehr Yousefali were arrested at the scene.

The car, which was later found to have been stolen, was seized, along with a number of other items, including a quantity of cash, suspected class A and B drugs, and a suspected viable firearm.

Both Meti and Yousefali have been charged with drug offences following the incident. They are due to appear at Bristol Magistrates' Court later today, Friday, October 4.

Meti, 22 of Southgate, London, was charged with two counts each of possession with intent to supply class A and class B drugs. He was also charged with possession of a bladed article in a public place and using a motor vehicle without third-party insurance.

Yousefali, 21 and of no fixed address, was charged with possession of a firearm offences and possession of a bladed article in a public place. He was also charged with the same four drug offences as Meti.

A statement from Avon and Somerset Police said: "Two men have been charged with drug offences after a vehicle stop in Bristol this week, in which a firearm was seized.

"Officers stopped a black BMW in Bond Street at about 4.30pm on Wednesday 2 October. Two men, David Meti and Sepehr Yousefali, were charged last night in connection with the incident.

"Meti, 22 of Southgate, London, was charged with two counts each of possession with intent to supply class A and class B drugs, possession of a bladed article in a public place and using a motor vehicle without third-party insurance.

"Yousefali, 21 of no fixed address, was charged with possession of a firearm offences, possession of a bladed article in a public place, plus the same four drug offences as Meti.

"Both men were remanded in custody and are due to appear before Bristol magistrates' Court today (Friday 4 October)."
