Two arrested in Nottinghamshire after 'Land Rover rams into e-bike' killing woman, 25
by Zasha Whiteway-Wilkinson · NottinghamshireLiveA murder probe has been initiated following the tragic death of a 25 year old woman in a suspected hit and run incident. The collision involved an e-bike and a dark coloured 4x4, thought to be a Land Rover Discovery, which reportedly followed the bike before hitting it and fleeing the scene.
The incident took place on Batley Lane, Pleasley around 8pm on Tuesday, November 26. Despite Derbyshire Police's prompt response, the woman could not be saved.
The alleged Land Rover is said to have pursued two e-bikes before colliding with one, causing both the rider and passenger to fall off - it then left the scene without stopping. The male rider, in his 20s, was hospitalised with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Two individuals have been arrested in relation to the incident. The police have extended their condolences to the woman's family, who are receiving support from specialist officers.

They are now appealing for any witnesses who may have seen a dark coloured Land Rover Discovery, believed to be manufactured between 2004 and 2009, in the Pleasley area prior to 8pm. The vehicle was last spotted on Rowthorn Lane where it turned right onto the A617 towards New Houghton, reports Derbyshire Live.
Two people, a man and a woman both in their 30s from the Skegby area of Nottinghamshire, have been arrested in connection with the incident and are currently in police custody.
DCI Claudia Musson, who is spearheading the investigation, stated: "This is an understandably shocking incident that has left a family grieving the loss of a young woman. A team of detectives have been working non-stop since the incident took place and have generated significant lines of enquiry."
She added: "We are, however, wanting to hear from anyone who has any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to help us bring those responsible to justice. Of particular interest is anyone with information about a dark coloured Land Rover Discovery, it may be that you saw it in the area around the time of the incident – or you have seen a vehicle matching this description that may have sustained damage or been recently repaired."
