Pricey Chanel handbag and silver antique stolen during 'very upsetting' Nottinghamshire raid
by Joshua Hartley · NottinghamshireLiveAn expensive designer handbag, jewellery and antiques were all stolen during a 'very upsetting' burglary in a Nottinghamshire village. Intruders smashed a window before clambering into the property in Gainsborough Road, Winthorpe, near Newark, at around 5.10pm on Wednesday, December 11.
Muddy footprints were left across the house and belongings were left scattered everywhere following a messy search, according to Nottinghamshire Police. A range of items were found to have been stolen during the break-in, including a high-value Chanel handbag and an antique silver teapot.
Different types of jewellery, a silver sugar bowl, and another handbag were also taken from inside the house. Police have now appealed for information to try to track down those responsible for the upsetting crime.
Sergeant Mark Walker, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We’re determined to track down whoever was responsible for this break-in, which has understandably left the homeowner very upset. Bearing this in mind, we’d ask that anyone who saw or knows anything about what happened, and hasn’t contacted the police yet, does so right away.
“We’d also ask people to check any CCTV, doorbell, or dash-cam footage from the area around this time, as it could assist our investigation." Any information can be shared with the police by calling 101, quoting incident 545 of 11 December 2024, or by reporting it anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
