Police close A631 in both directions after serious crash as drivers asked to find other routes
by Rucsandra Moldoveanu · NottinghamshireLiveAn A-road in north Nottinghamshire has been closed in both directions in two locations, with police asking drivers to find alternative routes. The A631 was closed at around 5.45pm on Monday, December 16, following a serious collision.
Nottinghamshire Police said in a statement: "We have closed the A631 in Scaftworth in both directions due to a serious road traffic collision. The road is expected to be closed for some time and motorists are asked to find alternative routes."
Traffic monitoring website Inrix stated that the accident occurred between Church Street in Bawtry and Mattersey Road in Everton. The collision is affecting traffic between Bawtry and Gringley on the Hill at the time of writing, at 9.30pm.
Another closure is in place on the A631 nearby, which Inrix states is due to recovery work and an overturned lorry between the A161 roundabout in Beckingham and the B1403 Green Road in Gringley on the Hill.
The closure, which is in both directions, was affecting traffic between Gainsborough and Bawtry at the time of writing. Inrix stated the incident was first reported at 3.43pm.
It is unclear whether any casualties resulted from either of the incidents.
