Student handing out flyers in Nottingham city centre assaulted

Nottinghamshire Police believe the man pictured may have information about the incident

An investigation has been launched after a student sustained facial injuries during a city centre assault in broad daylight. The 'upsetting' incident took place on Shakespeare Street, Nottingham, shortly before 1pm on Monday, September 16.

The 19-year-old victim was handing out flyers when he was confronted and assaulted, police say. He sustained facial injuries during the incident.

Officers have now released a photo of a man they would like to speak to in connection to the incident. PC Laurenie Haynes, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "This was an upsetting incident for the victim who was simply handing out flyers when he was confronted and assaulted.

"We are determined to track down the person responsible and believe the young man pictured in this image has information that will help our investigation. I urge him or anyone who knows him to come forward without delay."
