People evacuated as police investigate suspect package at Euston station

A spokesperson for the police stated that a safety cordon has been established as a "precaution". Reports have come in of an ambulance car and specialist officers attending the scene.
Passengers expressed their confusion on Twitter, with some stating that the station had been "evacuated". One individual reported: "Something is going on at Euston Station; it seems like the whole area is cordoned off."
Another person commented: "Just heard a massive explosion near Euston Road. Now the streets are flooded with sirens."
Further tweets described the situation with one saying: "Station at #euston been evacuated and cordens all over the place. Plenty of police and incident support teams. Not quite sure what's going on.", reports the Mirror.
The Met Police provided an update via social media: "We're aware of reports online about an incident in the vicinity of Euston Station. Police cordons are in place as a precaution while officers investigate a suspect package. We will provide further updates on this thread in due course."
Addressing the alarming noises reported by residents, the Met Police released an additional statement confirming: "A controlled explosion has been carried out by specialist officers and the police cordons have now been lifted. Thank you for your patience."
