Woman in hospital after being hit by car in Nottinghamshire village

A woman has been taken to hospital with head and leg injuries after being hit by a car in a Nottinghamshire village. Emergency services were called to the collision in Seely Avenue, Calverton at 7.34am on Wednesday, October 3.

The road was closed near its junction with Collyer Road for almost three hours while police dealt with the incident. Nottinghamshire Police said the pedestrian suffered head and leg injuries as a result of the collision, but they are not life-threatening.

A spokesperson said her condition is currently described as stable and the road was reopened by 11.10am. Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident and have asked motorists in the area to provide any dashcam footage. Information can be passed on to 101 quoting incident 91 of October 3.
