A woman was dragged for several feet and knocked unconscious during a broad daylight street robbery in Sutton-in-Ashfield. On Tuesday, October 15, the victim was walking on Willowbridge Lane, at around 10.15am when she was targeted by a man on a bike.

The offender grabbed her bag as he cycled past her, causing the victim to be dragged several feet along the pavement before she was knocked unconscious. The offender left the scene empty-handed.

The victim was left with bruising and was shaken by the incident. Nottinghamshire Police have been carrying out inquiries, which has involved analysing CCTV footage of the incident.

The suspect has been described as riding a red pushbike and wearing a black hooded jacket, grey tracksuit bottoms and trainers. Detective Constable Lisa Shields, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "Thankfully the victim was not seriously hurt but understandably has found the ordeal extremely upsetting.

“We are determined to track down the person responsible and are now in a position to release this image. While we appreciate the image is not completely clear, we believe there are people who will know who the cyclist is."

She continued: "Likewise, there may be people who have information about the incident, or dashcam, doorbell, CCTV or mobile phone footage, which could assist officers.” Anyone with information should contact the force on 101 and quote incident number 167 of 15 October 2024.
