A trial date has been set for a Derby man charged with attempted murder from stabbing outside a music venue in Nottingham city centre. Connor Page was told he will face trial on January 6, 2025, when he appeared at Nottingham Crown Court over a video-link from HMP Manchester.

The 27-year-old, of Metcalfe Close, Alvaston, denies the charge. Police were called to reports of a fight outside the I-Club music venue, in Wilford Street, just before 4am on Sunday, June 23. Two people were taken to hospital to be treated for stab wounds, which Nottinghamshire Police said are not life-threatening. Eight men - aged between 24 and 40 - were arrested in connection with the incident.

Page, who was arrested in Leicestershire on Wednesday, July 3, has been charged with attempted murder and wounding with intent. He has also been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, false imprisonment, aggravated vehicle taking and criminal damage in relation to a separate incident at an address in Derby, also on June 23.

Page was remanded into custody until his trial date. Police also arrested a 22-year-old man on suspicion of assisting an offender, while five other men – aged 24, 32, 35, 37, and 40 – were arrested on suspicion of violent disorder.

In a statement released at the time of the charge, Detective Chief Inspector Claire Gould, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "I am pleased we have now been able to charge a suspect in this case.

"As we continue to progress with our investigation, we are still urging anyone who has information which could assist us with our inquiries, who hasn’t already come forward, to please contact us as soon as possible.”
