The October meeting of Collin SWI was held in the conservatory at Garden Wise garden centre in Dumfries when their area plant manager, Laura Grainger gave a talk about the Klondyke Group and how she became involved with plants.

Laura then used a planter tub, adding a selection of several interesting plants which would last for a long time with minimal effort – not forgetting to add a feed of granules to the compost. Everyone enjoyed the afternoon, teas and coffees were served and competitions judged.

Competition results:

Plate garden – 1 Juliet Wood; 2 Hilda Winter; 3 Anne McCall.

Quirky condiments –1 Margaret Riddet; 2 Annie Henderson; 3 Agnes Carmichael.
