A Scots man has been found guilty of the 'deplorable' murder of a 'harmless' 57-year-old in Fife.

Christopher Brown, 36, was convicted at the High Court in Edinburgh on Friday, October 25, and will be sentenced next month.

The victim, Henry White, was found with fatal injuries in the garden of a house on the Erskine Wynd area of Oakley on Wednesday, March, 22, of last year following a report of a disturbance.

Following police enquiries, Brown was arrested and charged the next day.

Detective Inspector Kieran Marsh said: “I hope today’s conviction will bring some comfort to Henry's family and friends who have shown great strength throughout this investigation. Our thoughts remain with them as they continue to come to terms with what happened to him.

“Brown will now face the consequences of his deplorable actions.

"Thankfully crimes like these are extremely rare in our communities. When such incidents take place, we will use all resources necessary to carry out thorough, rigorous inquiries to ensure we track down those responsible to bring them to justice as swiftly as possible.

"I would like to thank all officers involved for their dedication and commitment throughout the investigation as well as those members of the public who assisted with our enquiries."
