Scot dubbed 'danger to woman' jailed over catalogue of violence and sex crimes

Callum Monson was jailed for seven years on Wednesday.

A man described as a "danger to women" has been jailed over a catalogue of violence and sex crimes against females.

Callum Monson was jailed for seven years at the High Court in Paisley on Wednesday, October 9. The 28-year-old was found guilty of the crimes against six women at the same court last week.

The crimes took place between 2019 and 2023. Three years of Monson's jail term will be spent under supervision.

Police Scotland has commended his victims for coming forward.

Detective Inspector Euan McMillan of the Public Protection Unit said: "Monson is a danger to women and he’s now facing the consequences of a campaign of violent and sexual attacks on six women. I commend the women involved for reporting Monson’s offending and throughout the legal proceedings. I hope his conviction and sentencing will bring them justice.

“Police Scotland is committed to tackling all forms of violent and sexual crime and I’d urge anyone who has been a victim to come forward and report it, knowing you’ll be fully supported by our specially trained officers and partner agencies. There is no time bar to reporting, so regardless of when it happened, know you can report it and we will fully investigate.”
