Corsock Christmas Craft Fair will make a welcome return to the village hall on Sunday.

This splendid annual event has become a regular date in the calendar for many of the region’s craftspeople and of course for all those who appreciate beautiful hand-made objects.

The fair, which has been a staple on the run up to Christmas for 20 years, is organised by glass artist Amanda Simmons and potters Doug Fitch and Hannah McAndrew, all Corsock residents themselves. The three have gathered a group of 20 local makers to exhibit at this year’s event and are excited to see the village hall filled with hand-made items and their creators and to welcome in the public to see and hopefully buy the work.

Exhibitors this year will include jeweller Natalie Vardey, illustrator Lucy Hadley, glass blower Christine Milne, and funky pants and slippers by Vicki from Standingstone Hill Sewing. Sarah Ade will be representing the Afghan Schools Trust with glorious handmade carpets. There will be slipware ceramics by Doug Fitch and Hannah McAndrew, kiln formed glass by Amanda Simmons and spoons, ladles and chopping boards from The Handmade Craft House.

This is a lovely way to support the incredible, thriving community of craftspeople that live and work in Dumfries and Galloway.

The Fair will run from 11am to 3pm and entry fee of £1 includes tea and cake. Please bring cash as not all the makers can take cards.
