The former partner of a young dad murdered by two drugged-up killers said she hopes the pair die in prison. Calum Simpson was just 24 when he was killed at a house party by monsters Cameron Allan and his partner Dylan Brister.

The men drugged and tied up the father of three then filmed themselves sexually abusing him as he lay dying at the house in Methil, Fife in November 2021. Bobbie Cowan, the mother of Calum’s three children, said: “I just hope they spend the rest of their days inside.”

On Friday Brister, 28, and Allan, 21, were sentenced to life in prison with Brister given a minimum term of 23 years while Allan will serve at least 19.

At the High Court in Dundee Lord Harrower described their acts as “depraved” and said they had caused “terrible devastation” to Calum’s family and his children.

A court previously heard how Allan and Brister had been using gay dating apps to try to lure unsuspecting men to meet them so they could carry out their sick fantasies. After failing to find a victim they preyed on Calum, who they didn’t know, when he ended up at their flat with a friend.

Speaking exclusively to the Sunday Mail the day after the killers were jailed Bobbie said: “I want Calum to be remembered for the kind, loving person he was. He was an amazing father and his children Calum, Mirren and Lyla and his stepdaughter Romi now won’t get to know him as they grow up.

“He had his life ahead of him and that was taken from him and from us. It’s been a mix of emotions. I expected to feel a sense of relief after the sentencing but I don’t think any amount of time can ever make up for what they have done.”

Calum’s mum Sheree was too upset to speak but watched from the court’s public gallery in Dundee as her only son’s killers were sentenced last week.
