Police carrying out extra patrols in Glasgow after targeted firearms incident

Extra police patrols are being carried out in Glasgow after a targeted firearms incident in the city.

Officers from Police Scotland were called to the horror incident on Drumoyne Road in the Govan area of the city at around 4pm on Friday, October 25.

A 52-year-old man was rushed to hospital for treatment and medics have confirmed his injury is not life-threatening and his condition is stable.

Cops have launched an investigation into the incident and urged anyone who may have any information to come forward. Door-to-door inquiries are currently taking place throughout the Govan area, while CCTV is also being trawled through.

Chief Inspector Jordan Dickson from Police Scotland said: “We believe this was a targeted incident and there is not thought to be any wider risk to the public.

Officers are carrying out extensive enquiries, including door-to-door and CCTV work. Extra patrols are also being carried out.
