Two rushed to hospital after horror crash between car and lorry in Scots town

Two people have been taken to hospital after a horror crash between a van and a lorry on a Fife road.

Emergency services raced to Den Walk in Methil following the collision at around 9.15am on Saturday, September 21.

One casualty was taken to hospital by ambulance, while an air ambulance was called to assist another following the incident this morning.

It's believed a van collided with the lorry causing chaos on the street. Shock pictures from the scene show the wreckage after the incident.

The rear of the HGV appears to have crashed through the passenger side of the van's windscreen.

Police cars, ambulances and fire engines were all called to the scene. The area was closed for several hours while investigations were carried out. It reopened at around 2.30pm.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were called to the collision involving a lorry and a van around 9.15am on Saturday, 21 September, 2024 in Den Walk in Methil

"Emergency services are in attendance and people are being asked to avoid the area. Enquiries are ongoing."

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called to a collision between a van and a HGV on Den Walk, Methil at 9.21am on Saturday.

“Crews from Methil and Kirkcaldy attended and extricated the van driver from the vehicle. There are two casualties, one was taken to hospital by ambulance and the air ambulance has been requested.”
