Four arrested for $500K watch theft at Las Vegas casino

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Four people were arrested for allegedly stealing two watches worth over $500,000 at a Las Vegas casino, according to documents obtained by 8 News Now.

On Aug. 17, around noon, patrol officers responded to a report of a robbery in which a man’s $400,000 watch went missing after he visited Club LIV in the Fontainebleau, according to an arrest report.

Police said the man explained that while at Club LIV, he was surrounded by multiple individuals after exiting the restroom. As he tried to navigate through the crowd, he felt himself being pushed and bumped into.

Investigating the incident, police reviewed surveillance footage, which showed a group of individuals tracking the man’s movements and waiting for him to leave the restroom. Once he exited, the group surrounded him, pushing him into each other to create a distraction, the report stated.

According to the arrest report, the $400,000 Richard Millie watch was on the man’s wrist when he entered the restroom, but it was gone by the time he left. Despite the investigation, police were unable to identify or track the suspects.

On Sept. 15, another man wearing a watch was seen walking through the LIV nightclub, where he was surrounded by a group brushing against him, the report stated.

Police said he reported feeling as though both his arms were extended and were unable to move. Before he knew it, his watch was gone, LVMPD said.

The group was later seen exiting the nightclub, according to the arrest report.

On Nov. 22, the Fontainebleau security team used facial recognition software to spot the same suspects on the property.

All four suspects were located and taken to the Clark County Detention Center and booked for grand larceny and conspiracy to commit grand larceny.

The suspects were identified as Milton Castillo Martinez, Laura Vargas, Briyith Munoz, and Johan Hernandez.
