Thoughts on the election?

British Columbia's political landscape remains uncertain after an election that has yet to produce a clear winner.

Recounts in two key ridings could determine the next government, with results not expected for at least another week.

The NDP currently leads or is elected in 46 ridings, while John Rustad's Conservatives hold 45, but neither party has reached the 47 seats needed for a majority in the 93-seat legislature.

Meanwhile, in Kelowna, Tory blue was the dominant color.

Castanet took to the streets on Monday to ask Kelowna residents for their thoughts on the election.

"The NDP didn't do as well as they deserved. We get the government we deserved sometimes," one resident said.

"A lot of people are saying that this is what they expected, that this is what they were expecting and now we have to wait. It's frustrating," another resident added.

Automatic recounts will take place Oct. 26 to 28, triggered by a margin of victory by less than 100 votes, which is the case in two ridings being led by the BC NDP; Juan de Fuca-Malahat and Surrey City Centre, Judicial recounts are possible if the margin between the top two candidates is less than 1/500th of the total ballots cast.
