Time to vote

It's decision day in BC, with voters taking to the polls to elect a provincial government.

Voters have four candidates to choose from for the Vernon-Lumby riding: incumbent NDP MLA Harwinder Sandhu, BC Conservative Dennis Giesbrecht, Independent Kevin Acton and Libertarian Robert Johnson.

Officials have said there was a record turnout for the advanced polls in the region, and those who did not cast a ballot early, can do so today.

Eligible voters can select their candidate at:

  • Clarence Fulton Secondary School, 2301 Fulton Rd.,
  • Community Baptist Church, 4911 Silver Star Rd.,
  • Grace Bible Church of Vernon, 5661 Silver Star Rd.,
  • Lakers Clubhouse, 7000 Cummins Rd.,
  • Mabel Lake Comm Hall, 111 Shuswap Falls Rd.,
  • Schubert Centre, 3505 30 Ave.,
  • Vernon Japanese Cultural Centre, 4895 Bella Vista Rd.,
  • Vernon Secondary School, 2100 15 St.,
  • White Valley Community Centre, 2250 Shields Ave.

The polls open at 8 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.

According to Elections BC, Voters have an assigned voting place on final voting day, but can vote at another voting place if it’s more convenient.

Residents can find their assigned voting place on their “Where to Vote” card or on the Where to Vote app.
