The District of Coldstream will once again be contributing money to keep the Vernon library open on Sundays.

At their regular council meeting Monday, civic officials agreed to pay “$4,233 to the City of Vernon to support Sunday hours in 2024 at the Okanagan Regional Library, Greater Vernon branch.”

Funding of $2,218 will come from the future expenditures operating reserve and $2,015 from general administration.

A report presented to council at their meeting states “Since 2015, the City of Vernon has requested consideration be given to financially support the Okanagan Regional Library’s request to open Sunday for 4-hours per day from October through April. Council has approved a contribution each year since then.”
