Police presence on Carmi

A road closure is currently affecting the area of Government Street and Carmi Avenue near the Penticton Regional Hospital, which is also seeing police presence.

Castanet has a reporter on site who has confirmed approximately 10 police vehicles are on location, along with ambulance. Many are situated in front of an apartment building.

Government Street is blocked off from Duncan Avenue and Carmi Avenue. Alleyways of nearby buildings have also been blocked off with police tape.

Police say they anticipate the closure to be in effect for "quite a while."

Castanet has reached out to RCMP and will have more information when it becomes available.
