Plymouth court list: 25 cases including 91-year-old caught speeding

It could be argued that justice cares nothing for your age, merely your crime and this week there's a clear example of that.

Amongst the many cases which have been put before Plymouth Magistrates' Court was a 91-year-old man who was caught speeding and disqualified from driving for six months.

Meanwhile, drink driving features again with drivers under the influence of alcohol outnumbering the drug drivers by some way. All were disqualified, with some handed big fines, unpaid work and, in one case, jailed.

DRIVING OFFENCE

KIERAN KING, aged 26 of Hickory Drive, Plymouth: Drove on Exeter Street while disqualified from driving. Court costs £85. Victim surcharge £80. Fined £200. Driving record endorsed six points.

DRINK/DRUG DRIVE

FELIX ROONEY, aged 35 of The Ride, Plymouth: Drove vehicle at Derriford Hospital, Derriford Road with 78mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath in excess of limit. Drove vehicle at Derriford Hospital, Derriford Road without suitable insurance. Drove whilst disqualified. Court costs £85. Jailed for 30 weeks. Disqualified from driving for 48 months. Driving record endorsed six points.

KYLE MATTHEWS, aged 31 of Mary Dean Close, Plymouth: Drove on Beacon Park Road with 59mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath in excess of limit. Court costs £85. Victim surcharge £32. Disqualified from driving for 14 months. Fined £80.

RYAN COLLETT, aged 36 of of Boringdon Hill, Plymouth: Drove on Embankment Road with 120mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood in excess of limit. Court costs £85. Victim surcharge £157. Disqualified from driving for 14 months. Fined £392.

ELLIE WYKES, aged 24 of Haddington Road, Plymouth: Drove on Budshead Road, Plymouth with 180mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood in excess of limit. Court costs £85. Victim surcharge £184. Disqualified from driving for 22 months. Fined £461.

NIGEL ANDERSON, aged 55 of Miles Mitchell Avenue, Plymouth: Drove on Whitchurch Road, Tavistock with Benzoylecgonine in blood in excess of the specified limit. JOHN LOUIS MORTELMANS, aged 91 of Flamborough Way, Southway : Drove on Old Laira Road in excess of 20mph speed limit. Drove on Budshead Road in excess of 30mph speed limit. Fined £110 for each offence. Victim surcharge £88. Court costs £90. Disqualified from driving for six months.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

SAM GOUTCHER, aged 31 of Seaton Avenue, Plymouth: Criminal damage to door of Tesco store in Glen Road worth around £500. Community order - Alcohol abstinence and monitoring for 30 days. Rehabilitation activity up to three days. Compensation £500.

DRUNK AND DISORDERLY

DARIUSZ ZIELESKIEWICZ, aged 44 of no fixed abode, Plymouth: Drunk and disorderly in Zion Street. Failed to surrender to custody. Court costs £85. Fined £150.

ASSAULT

RYAN CORK, aged 32 of Furse Park, Plymouth: Assault by beating of named man. Court costs £85. Victim surcharge £640. Compensation £100.. Fined £1,600. Excluded from The Dog and Duck pub on Mutley Plain for 12 months.

VIKKI WATSON, aged 41 of Ringmore Way, Plymouth: Two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm of two named women. Prison sentence of 24 weeks, suspended for 18 months.
