Attempted murder arrest after man stabbed in neck in Cornwall
by Toby Codd · PlymouthLiveA teenager has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was stabbed in the neck in Cornwall. Devon and Cornwall Police said the suspect and victim are known to each other.
Officers were called to the Basset Road area of Cambourne at around 10.25pm last night (Wednesday, October 30). It was reported that people had been threatened with a knife.
They rushed to the scene and found that a man had been seriously assaulted inside a property on the same road. The 31-year-old sustained a stab wound to his neck and was taken to hospital to be treated - his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or changing.
Police said an 18-year-old man from Camborne has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. He remains in police custody.
A police cordon is in place at the St Martin & St Meriadoc C of E Church, on Church Street, today (October 31). A local resident said that officers remain in the area.
Devon and Cornwall Police said: "It is believed that those involved are known to each other and there was no wider threat to the public. Detectives continue to investigate this incident and will be carrying out enquiries in the area."
