by · PlymouthLive

A motorist spotted driving "erratically" in Plymouth decided to try to race an unmarked police vehicle tonight. It's one of two incidents police have shared resulting in separate arrests in the city.

While the first was eventually stopped and tested positive for alcohol and admitted drug use, the second tested positive for cocaine. The second also was unable to provide car insurance details and the vehicle had an expired MoT.

Devon and Cornwall Police shared details of the two unrelated incidents on Saturday (October 26) night. They involved a Honda Civic and a Vauxhall.

At 8.51pm, the force Tweeted: "Civic seen driving erratically in #Plymouth and decided to race an unmarked car - when stopped blew over the limit for alcohol and admitted recent drug use - arrested and blew over in custody - will be charged to court later."

The force's 'No Excuse' team further Tweeted at 8.56pm: "Vauxhall stopped in #Plymouth for an expired MOT - no insurance details could be provided and the driver tested positive for cocaine - driver arrested and vehicle seized."
