Plymouth man arrested for 'threatening' people in Stonehouse

A man was arrested by several police officers in Plymouth following reports of threatening and abusive behaviour. As many as five officers were seen detaining the man on King Street in the Stonehouse area, at around 9.30am on Tuesday, November 5.

Officers from Devon and Cornwall Police were first called to reports that the man, in his 30s, had threatened and was abusive to two people on King Street.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police were called to the Stonehouse area of Plymouth at around 9.30am on Tuesday 5 November following reports of a man acting in a threatening manner.

"It was reported that the suspect threatened two people and was abusive. Officers attended and arrested the suspect on King Street.

"A man in his 30s, from Plymouth, was arrested on suspicion of using threatening/abusive/insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause fear of violence. He has been released on police bail."
