Attempted murder arrest in Plymouth as shocking crash video circulates
by Toby Codd · PlymouthLiveA man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after an alleged hit-and-run crash on the Barbican. Devon and Cornwall Police was called to reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian in Southside Street at around 2pm yesterday, Thursday, November 21.
Paramedics and the RNLI also rushed to the scene before a road closure was put in place. A man was taken to Derriford Hospital with serious injuries. Police said he remains there today, Friday, November 22.
A vehicle allegedly fled the scene after the crash. Investigating officers are continuing to appeal to the public for information on what happened.
The force are also aware of a video being shared on social media. They are urging the public not to speculate on the reported crash.
A man, aged in his 20s and from Tavistock, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving a short time after the incident. He has since also been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in police custody at this time.
