Woman Fined RM5,500 For Petrol Station Ruckus In Puncak Alam

The mother of five pleaded guilty to three charges at the Sungai Besar Magistrate Court yesterday, 22 October.

The woman caught brandishing a bamboo stick and causing a ruckus at a petrol station in Puncak Alam, Selangor last week has been fined RM5,500

According to the New Straits Times, Elyna Muhamad, 42, pleaded guilty to three charges at the Sungai Besar Magistrate Court yesterday, 22 October.

The mother of five was charged with making criminal threats, behaving indecently in a public place, and disorderly conduct at the police station.

According to the charge sheet, the accused had threatened petrol station supervisor Shakir Zuhayri Zairul Rizal, 24, at the petrol station in Hillpark Trade Centre at 7.50pm on 17 October

She was also accused of behaving indecently with the intent to provoke anger and disturb peace at the same time and location.

The first charge falls under Section 506 of the Penal Code, which carries a penalty of up to seven years in prison, a fine, or both; while the second charge falls under Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955, which is punishable by a fine of up to RM100.

The third charge involved her improper behaviour at the Saujana Utama police station at 1.45am on 19 October.

She was charged under Section 90 of the Police Act 1967, which is punishable by imprisonment for up to six months, a fine of up to RM500, or both.

Deputy public prosecutor Mohamad Nor Hakimi Mohamad Rosedin urged the court to impose a deterrent sentence to prevent Elyna from repeating her actions

Meanwhile, Elyna's lawyer, Shah Wira Abdul Halim, pleaded for a reduced fine as his client is unemployed.

Magistrate Siti Hajar Ali imposed the total fine of RM5,500 after the defendant admitted her guilt.
