Postal trainees explore Mysuru’s heritage properties

The trainees of the Postal Training Institute (PTC) were taken on a heritage walk in the city on Wednesday. They explored the heritage properties of Mysuru and got to know their history.

Every Wednesday, the heritage walk is conducted and it is organised by the Department of Archaeology, Museums and Heritage. PN.S. Rangaraju, a retired professor of the University of Mysore, and also member of the District Heritage Committee, conducted the heritage walk and took them around the city, explaining their importance and history.

Prof. Rangaraju said the heritage walk for the PTC trainees has been conducted for the last 12 years every Wednesday. Most of the trainees who participated in the walk were from South India and a few of them were from North India, he said.

“The trainees appreciated the city’s heritage during the two and half hours of the walk that covered the prime heritage landmarks of the city including the palace, town hall, majestic circles, Devaraja market, clock tower, and so on,” he added.
