Kerala native dies in accident in Coimbatore
by The Hindu Bureau · The HinduA 47-year-old man from Palakkad district in Kerala died in an accident in Coimbatore on Tuesday. The police said Mohammed Musthafa, who hailed from Thekke Vavanoor near Pattambi in Palakkad district, was run over by a truck.
The police said Musthafa had been working in a burger shop at R.S. Puram. The accident took place at Oppanakara Street in the city on Tuesday morning.
Musthafa and another person had come to Oppanakara Street on a two-wheeler to purchase materials for the shop. The police said the duo rode along the wrong side of the one-way road. According to the police, the rider panicked when a truck passed close to the two-wheeler on the one-way road and lost control of the vehicle. Musthafa fell from the two-wheeler and came under the tyres of a truck. He died on the spot.
The body was handed over to family members after the post-mortem examination at the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital.
