LDF wins bypolls in Madayi, Chengom wards in Kerala’s Kannur

The Left Democratic Front (LDF) retained the Madayi and Chengom wards in Kannur when the results of the local body bypolls were declared on Wednesday.

In Madayi, Mani Pavithran of the CPI(M) secured 502 votes with a majority of 234 votes. N. Prasanna (Independent) received 268 votes, while K.P. Vindhya (BJP) secured 144 votes.

In Chengom, Ratheesh Porunnan of the CPI(M) won 536 votes, securing a majority of 199 votes. C.K. Sindhu (INC) obtained 337 votes, Sindhu Pavi (BJP) 11, P.C. Rineesh (Independent) three, and Sindhu (Independent) one.
