Human rights violations in current society shocking: M.R. Hariharan Nair

Human rights violations in today’s society are both shocking and unimaginable and organisations like the Centre for Protection of Social Justice (CPSJ) play a crucial role in addressing these issues, said M.R. Hariharan Nair, former judge of the High Court. He was speaking at the inaugural session of the CPSJ’s first State conference in Thrissur on Saturday.

The event was presided over by P.N. Vijayakumar, retired judge and national chairperson of the CPSJ. Former Speaker Therambil Ramakrishnan also attended the function.

P.S. Gopinath, former High Court judge, inaugurated a debate on the Right to Information Act, while former State Information Commissioner M.N. Gunavardhanan delivered the keynote address. C.A. Jojo, CPSJ national secretary general, gave the introductory speech.

Eminent individuals including P.C. Thomas, Attoor Kalarikkal Vasudevan Vaidyar, Joseph D’Silva, P.K. Varghese, and Vedavyasan Puthukkad were honoured for their contributions to society.

CPSJ State president P.D. Jayasankar, State secretary K.H. Danachandran, and other leaders also spoke at the function.
