Perni Nani, who preaches morality, is caught red-handed in the rice scam: Kollu Ravindra

Excise, Mines and Geology Minister Kollu Ravindra has lashed out at YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader and former minister Perni Venkatramaiah (Nani).The National Democratic Alliance (NDA)  government would not tolerate any anarchy and would expose all the scams that took place during the previous YSRCP regime. Mr. Nani’s mistakes during his tenure would land him in trouble, he said.

Addressing a press conference on  Tuesday,  Mr. Ravindra ridiculed that Mr. Perni Nani, who preaches morality, was looting the people. The former minister was caught red-handed in the rice scam and has now disappeared, he alleged. Mr. Perni Nani and his family was involved in a case wherein  the rice meant for the poor was stolen. Around 3,708 bags, 187 tonnes of rice worth approximately ₹90 lakhs was shifted from Mr. Perni Nani’s  warehouse and sold through the port, he alleged. “We believe this is just a part of it; much more will come to light. Today, the entire Mr. Perni Nani family has absconded from Machilipatnam. Moreso, Mr. Perni Nani had the audacity to send a letter, admitting the rice theft and offering to pay back the money.” he said adding,  “Does paying back stolen money make you innocent? The law will not allow such thievery. Stealing rice meant for the poor and then offering money will not absolve you of your crimes. Your greed has disgraced even your women, pushing them onto the streets.”
