Governor, Transport Minister Ponnam grace pre-Christmas celebrations at Raj Bhavan and Secretariat

Pre-Christmas celebrations were observed with great religious fervour and joy at Raj Bhavan on Friday. The festive spirit resonated through the event, bringing together the Raj Bhavan staff in a warm and vibrant gathering.

Governor Jishnu Dev Varma graced the occasion and actively participated in the celebrations. Joining the Raj Bhavan staff members and children, the Governor shared the joy and festive cheer, emphasizing the spirit of unity and goodwill that Christmas symbolizes.

The event featured carol singing by the Festival Choristers, a renowned musical ensemble in Hyderabad, along with the illumination of a beautifully adorned Christmas tree, creating an atmosphere of joy and festivity.

The Governor conveyed his heartfelt Christmas wishes, urging everyone to embody the values of love, compassion and harmony. He expressed his delight in celebrating the joyous occasion with the Raj Bhavan family, reinforcing the bonds of togetherness and the festive spirit. Distinguished guests, including Mrs. Aruna Bahuguna, IPS (Retd.), Mrs. Rebello, IAS (Retd.), Mrs. Sonibala Devi, IFS, and senior officers of Raj Bhavan, also participated in the celebrations.

Ponnam attends fete

Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar participated as the chief guest in the Christmas celebrations held at the Secretariat Church, organized by the Christian Employees’ Association at the Secretariat.

During the event, the Minister encouraged everyone to pray to Lord Jesus for global peace and welfare. He highlighted the importance of following Jesus Christ’s teachings, hymns and reflections for the betterment of society. He noted that Jesus, synonymous with sacrifice, promotes forgiveness as a virtue everyone should adopt.

The event was graced by AICC Minority Leader Anil Thomas, Chairman of the Christian Minority Finance Corporation Deepak John, Minority Commission Vice Chairman Shankar Luke and MD of the Christian Minority Finance Corporation Sabitha.

The programme was presided over by Christian Employees’ Union Vice President Chitti Babu.
