People have restricted me within a small circle of caste, says S. Ramadoss
by The Hindu Bureau · The HinduPMK founder S. Ramadoss on Sunday said that the people of Tamil Nadu had restricted him ‘within a small circle of caste’ and said that those who read his book will have a different opinion. He was speaking at the book release function of his 20th book, ‘Porgal Oiyvadhillai’ in Chennai.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Ramadoss said that the party has been a pioneer in presenting 22 shadow budgets and 17th shadow agricultural budgets, following the European model of having shadow cabinet. “If Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu and Lord Sivan ask me what I want, I would ask him for two boons and one smaller boon: a Tamil Nadu in which there is not a drop of liquor and a Tamil Nadu where even a drop of water goes to the sea. Smaller boon is that there should not be any ganja sold in Tamil Nadu where it is being sold widely,” he said.
Dr. Ramadoss said that government should bring a law that would punish those who bribe voters with money with ten years in jail along with their plan to bring ‘One Nation, One Election’. “I am a politician. My job is to protest. I will continue to do so,” he said.
Speaking at the book release function, PMK president Anbumani Ramadoss said that providing ₹1,000 per month to women was not going to help them as much as the 108 Ambulance scheme, which was his idea, that helped so many women across India. “Ensure growth of agriculture, safeguard agricultural lands, ensure that there is no sale of ganja and improve management of water resources...which would help the future generations in Tamil Nadu.,” he said.
“We are fighting for reservations to ensure that youngsters can educate themselves and find jobs. There has been constant labelling of PMK and Dr. Ayya as caste-based party and leader despite working for every community pains me,” he said.
