DC appreciates the police for conducting the sports meet every year without fail

The annual sports meet of the Mysuru city police got off to a start here on Wednesday.

Inaugurating the sports meet, Deputy Commissioner G. Lakshmikanth Reddy appreciated the police force for conducting the sports meet every year without fail. This displays the discipline in the force and the importance the police personnel give for the sports and fitness.

He said the practice of organising the sports meet in the Police Department has been going on for many years. The sporting talents of the police personnel can be showcased in such events, he said, adding that it helps in strengthening the teamwork and unity among the force.

While the sports meet continue in the Police Department, they have, however, become a rarity in other departments though they were once used to be regular in the past.

Police Commissioner Seema Latkar, Deputy Commissioners of Police Muthuraj and Jahnavi, and other officers of the city were present.

The valedictory of the sports meet will be held on November 29.
