Students injured in accident in Thiruvananthapuram

Eight school students sustained injuries after their bus overturned near Pothencode on Thursday.

The incident occurred around 4 p.m. at Pathippallikkonam when the private bus was transporting students of Lakshmi Vilasam High School, Pothencode to their homes. There were 19 students, all hailing from Kaniyapuram, in the bus at the time of the mishap.

The driver lost control of the vehicle after it rammed into a soil embankment on the roadside, causing the bus to overturn. While six students suffered minor injuries, two others sustained head injuries and were admitted to the Thiruvananthapuram Government Medical College Hospital. The others were taken to a private hospital in Pothencode.
