by The Hindu Bureau · The HinduThe Puzhal police have arrested two youth who were allegedly supplying methamphetamine to peddlers in the city.
Following a tip-off on drug peddling, a special police team on November 19 arrested two men in Puthagaram, near Madanakuppam Service Road, for selling methamphetamine. Based on their confessions, the police arrested four more persons the next day and two more on November 24. A total of eight persons were arrested and remanded in judicial custody within five days.
Investigating further, the police traced the persons who supplied drugs to them. They arrested Shoiab Mohammed, 27, and his associate Mohammed Shahib, 22, of Iliyas Nagar in Bengaluru. They seized 3.10 g of methamphetamine and two mobile phones from them.
The police said efforts were on to trace the other suspects in the case.
