Assistant Engineer of Warangal Panchayat Raj Department in ACB net

An Assistant Engineer in the drawing branch of the District Panchayat Raj Department, Warangal district was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday for demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹5,000. The accused official Gade Kartheek was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe at Haritha Kakatiya Hotel in Nakkalagutta, Hanmakonda. According to the ACB, the complainant had approached the official to expedite the scrutiny and finalisation of bills worth approximately ₹9 lakh related to the completion of three CC roads under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) in Kadarigudem and Wardhannapet. The bribe was demanded in this matter. The tainted amount was recovered from the official who was then produced in the special court for SPE and ACB cases in Warangal. Investigation is underway.
