Releasing the public exam timetable, he said, “Class 11 (exams) will be held from March 5-27, 2025. Results for Class 12 will be announced on May 9, 2025, while Class 11 and 10 results will be out on May 19, 2025, tentatively.”

The practical exams for Class 10 will be conducted from February 22 to February 28, 2025. For Class 12, the practical exams will begin on February 7 and conclude on February 14. For Class 11, they will be held from February 15 to February 21. The exams will be conducted from 10 a.m. to 1.15 p.m. For Class 12, 11, and 10, the exams will begin with the language paper.

On Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan

Mr. Poyyamozhi said that with the onset of the Northeast monsoon, the decision to declare school holidays would rest with the respective district collectors.

Speaking to the media, the Minister encouraged students to approach the public exams with confidence, advising them to overcome exam anxiety by self-assessing their performance in half-yearly and quarterly tests.

He further highlighted the State’s commitment to education, stating, “The Tamil Nadu government has allocated a higher budget to the School Education Department, enabling the State to become a top-performing one with the highest Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) at 62%. It is unfair that the Central government has not provided adequate funds, especially for the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA). For the past few months, the scheme has been running solely on the State’s contributions.”

The Minister also emphasised the State’s efforts in enhancing school infrastructure. “Under the Professor Anbazhagan School Development Scheme, over 3,000 school buildings have been repaired or newly constructed. Additionally, ₹1,000 crore has been allocated this year, increasing the scheme’s total funding to ₹7,500 crore,” he said.
