Two including woman held for drug peddling in car in Egmore

Egmore Police on Monday arrested two persons including a woman from Assam who were allegedly involved in drug peddling and seized 700 grams of methamphetamine, 6.5 kilos of ganja, three mobile phones and a car from them. 

Following a tip-off, a special team of police personnel conducted a vehicle check in the early hours of Monday and intercepted a car at 3.40 am on Gandhi-Irwin Road. The two occupants n the car gave evasive replies to the police personnel who quizzed them. On suspicion, police conducted a search in the vehicle and seized methamphetamine and ganja concealed inside.  

The two M.Balasubramanian, 39 of Perambur and Fathima Begum, 24 of Guwahati, Assam were arrested. Balasubramanian had a previous criminal case for drug peddling and further interrogation is on, police said.
