Former MLA S. Subburayar dead

S. Subburayar, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam’s former legislator of Cumbum, died at a private hospital in Theni on Friday morning after a brief illness. He was 75. He is survived by his wife and a daughter. 

According to his party colleague and former MLA of Cumbum S.T.K. Jakkaiyan, the late MLA was elected from the Cumbum  Assembly constituency in 1984, defeating N. Ramakrishnan of the DMK (who is the present MLA) by a margin of about 5,200 votes. He remained as the MLA till the dissolution of the House in 1988. 

In a statement, party general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami condoled the death of  Subburayar, who, he recalled, was a member of the organisation since inception.
