Implement Metro Rail in Tiruchi, says Durai Vaiko

MDMK MP Durai Vaiko has requested the Centre to allot funds for the Metro Rail project and state the work in Tiruchi.

Mr Durai Vaiko, representing Tiruchi Lok Sabha constituency, said CMRL had already constituted a committee to study the project and submit a report. “The committee includes representatives from the Centre and it has already submitted a report,” he said in Lok Sabha.

He also urged the government to increase the commission being paid to the agents of the Life Insurance Corporation (LIC). “ Since its launch in 1956 the commission for the agents had not been increased. Even though IRDA had recommended for an increase it was not implemented. The government should not reduce the first year commission and increase the total commission,” he said.

Mr Durai Vaiko also made a strong case for increasing the age limit in view of the increase in the average lifespan of human beings. “The decision to reduce the age from 55 to 50 has prevented people from opting for policy,” he said.
