₹39 cr. allotted to hold diamond jubilee of Bharat Scouts and Guides in Jan. 2025

The School Education Department has allocated ₹39 crore for the diamond jubilee jamboree of Bharat Scouts and Guides which is expected to be held in January 2025.

According to a government order issued by the department, the jamboree will be held at Manapparai in Tiruchi, and will have various programmes including band march, folk dance and talent show.

The event coincides with former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi’s birth centenary.

Over 25,000 people including international students are expected to take part in the event. In view of this, the department has allotted ₹5 crore from State government funds, ₹10 crore from the Tamil Nadu Textbook and Educational Services Corporation and ₹24.7 crore through public and private contributions.

Tamil Nadu School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi had announced in the State Assembly earlier this year that ₹10 crore would be allotted  for the event.
